In our clinic; there are 16 beds where inpatients have medical care with early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, as well as an outpatient parenteral antibiotic treatment unit where daily patients are followed up. In addition, it is among our responsibilities to monitor patients in all the hospital's inpatient clinics through infection consultations, to ensure the rational use of antibiotics and to establish related policies, to prevent the development of infections in the special patient groups, and to ensure that patients and their relatives are trained about infectious diseases and prevention methods.
Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of the patients are within the scope of our outpatient services. Providing vaccination against vaccine-preventable infectious diseases, especially Hepatitis B, educating patients and their relatives more widely about infectious diseases, and ensuring the notification of infectious diseases are among the main objectives of our outpatient services.
In our laboratory, microbiological examinations of our patients as well as intensive care unit patients and blood culture examinations of all inpatients are carried out. Molecular scientific research studies are also carried out.
The Infection Control Committee, which is carried out by our Department, determines the policies required to reduce hospital infection rates and prevent outbreaks and prepares instructions on the methods to be followed. Our committee also holds meetings to educate faculty, health and auxiliary health personnel about hospital infection control measures. In addition, the Committee works to reduce infection rates with feedback from the data of the hospital infection surveillance.
